    GEORGIA — While the COVID-19 pandemic continues to cause economic headaches, state tax collections in June were down $187 million year-over-year, a decrease of 8.8 percent. Net tax collections for the 2020 fiscal year are down 4.4 percent with a drop of $1.04 billion in tax revenues.

    FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — When legislators return to the Gold Dome mid-June, they will have to pass a budget for the upcoming fiscal year that addresses the shortfall caused by the coronavirus pandemic.


    The primary elections are fast approaching. On June 9, Fulton County residents will be able to vote for a slew of federal, state and local candidates. Those who claim a party affiliation will have the option to vote on party-specific questions: six for Democrats and three for Republicans.
